About The Blog

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog!  My name is Kyle Dixon, and in case you haven't gathered, this is a history blog.  I enjoy taking day trips, photography, and of course, history.  I wanted to look for a way to combine my interests while sharing the little tidbits of history in our backyard that many people do not know about, so why not start a blog?

I am a teacher by day, and hold a B.A. in American Studies and a M.A.T. in Secondary Education.  My areas of interest include social history, particularly mid-19th century America, the Civil Rights movement, and the 1960s.  I have done volunteer work with historical organizations including the Historical Society of Cecil County, the Kent County Historical Society, and the Gettysburg Foundation.
